Philosophy
The Ren school of Gongfu seeks to develop a strong martial ability and a steadfast character in all of the students it accepts for training.
Conflict Resolution
The Ren Family strongly believes that nonviolence should always be the first choice when attempting to resolve any conflict. It should be noted that the operative word of this philosophy is "choice". For something to be a choice, there must be more than one option.
Non-violence is a condemned state of being, not a choice, unless one possesses an ability to competently respond with force if a situation demands it.
Discipline
The masters of the Ren School of Gongfu train with the philosophy that Martial Arts are for the betterment of the whole individual through the performance of intense physical exercises.
Each student will be expected to be self-motivated and capable of pushing themselves to do their best in each and every class. No judgment will be passed if you stop training early to rest, no pat on the back will be given if you give 100%. You determine your own level of involvement and rate of progress. Training Methodology
The Ren Family system is designed for combat. Students wishing to develop actual fighting ability must participate in full contact sparring. By training simple, direct techniques and refining them against an activly resisting opponent students may develop practical martial abilities.
The traditional Shaolin and Taijiquan forms are great for a more casual study of Martial Arts if the student prefers not to participate in the full contact sparing program.
